Description
Located in Xuan Son village, Vinh Trung commune, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.
At first, when Xuan Son village was first established, there were less than 20 households; The village was founded by Mr. Huynh Van Tho, Mr. Huynh Van Xay of Quang Nam origin and Mr. Nguyen Tan of Binh Dinh origin (now becoming the predecessor of the village). Around the 18th century, the people here built Xuan Son communal house near Dinh bridge about 20m from the railway line (known as Cay Ke land).
In 1947, Xuan Son was the site of revolutionary activities, so the French destroyed the communal house, removed materials to build the blockhouse to hold the railway bridge, and forced the entire population to evacuate from the village across the Quan Truong River; Until 1956, the villagers returned and re-established the village to this day.
In 1960, people contributed their efforts and money to rebuild a spacious communal house with lime and mortar bricks at the junction, the center of the village; In 2016-2017, the communal house was rebuilt towards the top of the village, because the old location was within the boundary of Cao Ba Quat - Cau Lung street (Nha Trang to Dien Khanh).
The communal house worships Thanh Hoang, Thien Y A Na, Tien Hien, Hau Hien, and martyrs.
At present, the communal house still preserves 05 ordinations bestowed by the Nguyen kings:
- Ordaining Tu Duc in the 5th year (1852) to Ban Canh Thanh Hoang;
- Ordaining Tu Duc in the 33rd year (1880) to Ban Canh Thanh Hoang;
- Ordaining Dong Khanh in the 2nd year (1887) to Ban Canh Thanh Hoang;
- Ordaining Duy Tan in the 3rd year (1909) conferred on Ban Canh Thanh Hoang;
- Ordaining Khai Dinh in the 9th year (1924) conferred on Ban Canh Thanh Hoang.
Previously, the communal house held the "Spring and Autumn Festival", but now the annual Xuan Son communal house festival is held on the 10th and 11th of the third lunar month.
Before 1945, Xuan Son communal house was the gathering place of the Viet Minh movement, including Mr. Huynh Ngot as Commune Captain, then he was arrested by the French and imprisoned in Con Dao for 5 years and exiled in exile for 10 years in Vietnam. Ninh Thuan. In early 1946, the 1st line of Nha Trang was broken, a part of Viet Minh troops pulled back to Xuan Son communal house to reinforce forces for Cay Da - Quan Gieng Front.
The communal house faces the North, has a total area of 1,634.2m2; including construction items such as rituals, martial arts, money sacrifices, main hall, Thien Y temple, Tien Hien temple, Dong house.
Recognizing the historical - cultural values of the relic, in 2007 Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2017/QD-UBND ranking Xuan Son Communal House as a provincial relic.
