Thien An Pagoda is located to the northwest of Phuoc Thuan village, along the left bank of the Cho River;  The pagoda is facing south, built in the land with a total area of 4,362.6 m2.  From the outside to the inside, the pagoda has the following overall layout: Tam Quan, pagoda yard, Quan Am tower, memorial stele of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, main hall, ancestral house, east house, tru house.

The pagoda was formed from 1802 - 1808. The founder of Thien An pagoda is Thien Phuoc Thuong Chuong Ha Chi, the name Buu Tinh - The name is Huynh Van Du, born in the year of the Pig (1755), originally in Phu Vinh village, Tuy An government, Phu Yen province. He left home to practice religion, then entered Tan Dinh government, Khanh Hoa province, went to Phuoc Thuan commune, Phuoc Khiem general built Thien An pagoda. He belonged to the 38th Lam Te Zen sect, the 5th generation of Minh Hai - Phap Bao. He was a famous monk invited by King Minh Mang to attend the "Thuy Luc Dao Trang" ceremony in the imperial city of Hue (1825) and when he returned he was ordained a "Governor". He passed away on the 5th day of the 8th month of the Year of the Dog (1826), at the age of 71 years.

From 1826 up to now, the pagoda has experienced many abbots. In which, from 1933 to 1943, Most Venerable Thich Quang Duc was the abbot of Thien An Pagoda. He has the legal name Thi Thuy, self Hanh Phap, name Quang Duc, belongs to Lam Te Zen sect, 42nd generation, Chuc Thanh verse. Currently, Venerable Thich Quang Can, self-titled Hue Hai, alias Vien Nhu, is the abbot of Thien An pagoda.

Thien An Pagoda worships Buddha Shakyamuni, Master Bodhidharma, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, Dai The Chi Bodhisattva, Chuan De, Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc...

The years the pagoda was built, restored and embellished:
- In 1826, the first major restoration;
- In 1938, the second major restoration;
- In 1962, the main hall was rebuilt on the old foundation;
- In 1964, building a winter house;
- In 2000, the main hall was built and renovated.

In front of the main hall is the street money. The front hall has an ancient floor, on the roof is decorated embossed "Two dragons adoring the wheel of the Dharma", the corner of the roof is decorated with a dragon image, on the neck of the floor is written the Quoc Ngu word "Sacred Four Thien An Tu" decorated on both sides. natural landscape.

The front hall has three doors, on the main door threshold is a book of letters written in Han Nom: "賜 敕寺  恩  天" (Sacred Four of Thien An Pagoda). The thresholds on both sides are written in Chinese Nom, on the left: “輝 增 日 佛” (Buddha Nhat Tang Huy), on the right: “轉 常 輪 法” (Falun Chang Chuan); On both sides of the door, a couplets are written in Han Nom with the first two letters forming the pagoda's name:

Thien Tuong flourished in potential energy, Thien Thu Monastery increased and strengthened,
Enthusiasm for blessings, results from cause and effect, Zen subjects are eternally dignified.

Translate:

Auspicious, flourishing, the way in life is vast, the monastery is more stable for thousands of years,
Gifts, blessings, and results come from causes, the Zen gate is forever dignified.

The main hall consists of three roofs, with ancient architecture, the lower roof is covered with western tiles, the upper two floors are covered with glazed tiles. The ancient floor is built in hexagonal shape, each floor has six roofs, the top is decorated with lotus bud patterns.

The two sides of the main hall, separated by a wall, are a souvenir room and a reception room. The memorial room displays images of His Excellency Thich Quang Duc and hangs the picture of Hoanh Phi “興  重  宇  梵”   (Pham Vu Trung Hung), and Dai Hong Chung dating from the 4th year of Khai Dinh (1919).

Every year, Thien An Pagoda has the following major holidays: Buddha's Birthday on the full moon day of April and Vu Lan festival on the full moon day of the seventh lunar month.

The ancestral days of the temple:
- The day of the opening ceremony of the mountain, Venerable Thien Phuoc Buu Tinh (August 5th of the lunar calendar);
- The day of the ancestor Hoang Kim and teacher Dong Thien (April 8 of the lunar calendar);
- The day of the Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc, the Dharma cremator (April 18 of the lunar calendar);
- The day of the Chon ancestor's transmission of Phap Thuan (April 25 of the lunar calendar);
- The day of the ancestor of Trung Vinh Chon Gia (September 6 of the lunar calendar);
- The day of the Venerable Master Thich Thien Phuoc (November 14 of the lunar calendar).

Thien An Pagoda in the resistance against the French and Americans, was the hiding place, nurturing and communication of revolutionary soldiers operating in the northern region of Ninh Hoa.

Recognizing the historical - cultural values of Thien An Pagoda, in 2016 Khanh Hoa People's Committee ranked the provincial relic.
