Phuoc Hai communal house belongs to Phuoc Toan Tay residential group, Phuoc Hai ward, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.
Phuoc Hai ward was formerly known as Phuoc An village, because Trinh Cong Tuong was the first person to set up a village around the first year of the 18th century. In 1770, when Trinh Cong Tuong died, the people in the village were grateful, established a communal house and worshiped him. Initially, Phuoc Hai communal house was built at the foot of Kho Son mountain, north of Linh Phong pagoda (now in Phuong Son ward). After many times of repair and restoration, the communal house was moved to its current position at the foot of Dinh mountain.
Phuoc Hai communal house is located on a beautiful and airy location in a campus with a total area of 6,520m2, including the following works: Nghi Mon, flagpole, plan, martial arts, sacrifice and main hall.
The money and the main hall are the two main items of the relic. The sacrifice consists of three compartments with three entrances. The roof is covered with western tiles, on the roof is decorated with "Two dragons paintings". The money has a typical structure of the local tradition. The main bearing system is a wooden frame consisting of: four female columns and two military columns linked to the set by mortise holes (the set is designed in the style of a traditional truss) along with a system of through rods, diaphragms, rui, sesame ... form a framework to support the roof.
Interior decoration of the sacrifice: in the middle of the altar of President Ho Chi Minh, above there is a gilded gilded diaphragm with Chinese characters: "Dinh Phuoc Hai"; In each row and column, there are pairs of opposites in Chinese characters inlaid with pearls.
After the sacrifice, the main hall is made seamless and connected, basically the two works are designed in the same way, only in the main hall there are more columns and columns, on the roof there is an old floor.
Interior decoration of the main hall: in the middle is the altar of the Council and connected to the altar of the Gods by an altar (on occasions when the village worships, it is the place to place items to worship the God). The God altar is the central altar of the communal house, the two sides of the God altar have two large umbrellas and two rows of Lo Bo painted with gilded vermilion; On both sides are the altars of Ta Ban and Huu Ban.
In addition to the unique beauty of architectural art, Phuoc Hai communal house also preserves many relics and antiques of great historical and cultural value: diaphragms, couplets, Han Nom documents, long communal houses, etc. parasols, gongs, drums, mules, rituals, rituals, rituals, music, costumes, etc. In particular, two royal titles were conferred by the kings of the Nguyen Dynasty.
Every year, from the 1st to the 4th day of the third lunar month, which is the communal house festival, the people of Phuoc Hai gather here to offer incense to Thanh Hoang and commemorate the ancestors who built the village and established the hamlet.
During the two resistance wars against the French colonialists and the American empire, Phuoc Hai communal house was the site of many events related to the local revolutionary history.
Phuoc Hai communal house is one of the ancient communal houses that have existed for more than 200 years. The relic has been attached to the people of Phuoc Hai village since the early days of reclamation and establishment of the hamlet. At present, the relic still retains the architecture bearing the imprint of the early Nguyen Dynasty; not only that, Phuoc Hai communal house is also true evidence marking the glorious history of the locality; The traditional festival of the communal house is still held every year with a full range of rituals.
Recognizing the typical historical - cultural values of Phuoc Hai communal house, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 646/QD-UBND, dated March 23, 2009 ranking it as a provincial relic.
