Description

Hien Luong communal house is located in Hien Luong village, Van Luong commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province, about 60 km from Nha Trang city to the North (formerly An Luong commune, canton Ha, Quang Phuoc district, Binh Hoa government). ).

The relic was built around the end of the 18th century, to worship the Emperor Ban Canh and worship the Nam Hai Cu ethnic group Ngoc Lan, Thien Y A Na Dien Ngoc Phi ... In particular, the monument also worships Thuong Thu Nguyen Xuan Thuc who Khanh Hoa first held the position of Thuong Thu, Tran Duong Governor, one of the three "Khanh Hoa three masterpieces" and two Nguyen dynasty officials, Tran Van Nang, Nguyen Van Thuan (or Thon) two men from Tan Dinh district[1] .

Hien Luong Communal House is located near the sea, affected by the harsh climate plus the destruction of the constant wars that have damaged the communal house, so the people have taken steps to repair it many times:

Initially, the communal house was built with coral stone, lime mortar mixed with molasses, roofed with yin and yang tiles. In 1889, people restored the east house, built of brick walls, and roofed with yin and yang tiles. In 1944, more money was built and a small shrine was built under the rice tree. Hien Luong Communal House is located in a large, flat campus, with an area of 800 m2, facing the Southeast, overlooking the Hien Luong estuary.

Every year, on the 10th day of the third lunar month, people in the village organize a festival bearing bold traditional culture of the locality. Intangible cultural values are preserved in the festival such as: the procession of the spirit, the sacrifice ceremony, the sacrifice text, the ceremonial music and the folk performing art of singing boi...

The relic is related to many local historical events and figures such as: Governor Tran Duong was born in 1839 in Cat Nem hamlet (Hien Luong hamlet), he and Trinh Phong and Nguyen Khanh stood up according to Can Vuong decree. against French colonialism. Tran Duong chose the communal house of Hien Luong village as a place to recruit insurgents and practice and fight many glorious battles such as the battle at Ha Thanh Pass (Ninh Hoa), the ambush at Doc Thi (Xuan Tu, Van Ninh). , ambush at Cay Gao wharf (Phu Son, Ninh Trung).

Hien Luong communal house was built and existed due to the needs of the community when they came to a newly reclaimed land and established a hamlet. This is a traditional feature of religious rituals of Vietnamese residents marking a time of land reclamation, commemorating those who have contributed to building and fighting to protect the homeland, creating a center of cultural activities. community, thereby sticking together to work and produce. This is really a cultural beauty that needs to be preserved. Not only that, with its ancient beauty and features of architectural art, Hien Luong communal house was ranked by the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, issued Decision No. 1892/QD-UBND, dated November 6, 2006. It is a provincial historical and cultural relic.
