Description

Dac Loc communal house is located in Dac Loc village, Vinh Phuong commune, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.

About Dac Loc village: According to Nguyen Dinh Dau, the work of surveying and land registration in Khanh Hoa in 1810, Dac Loc village was named An Loc commune, Ha canton, Hoa Chau district, Dien Khanh district[1]. From the reign of King Thieu Tri in the 3rd year (1843) to the reign of King Tu Duc in the 3rd year (1850), An Loc commune changed its name to Thien Loc commune, Phuoc Dien district[2]. In the 9th year of King Khai Dinh's reign (1924), Thien Loc commune changed to Dac Loc commune, Trung Chau canton, Dien Khanh district.

After the village gradually stabilized, in order to have a place of religious activities for the villagers, Mr. Phan Van Minh and the people in the village contributed efforts and money to build the communal house in Dak Loc village. Recognizing and being grateful for the contributions of people with meritorious services to the village, the villagers honored Mr. Phan Van Minh as the village's predecessor in the 3rd year of King Minh Menh's reign (1822), and at the same time set up a shrine on the premises. Dac Loc family.

About the date of the communal house: Based on the earliest ordination that King Thieu Tri in the 3rd year (1843) bestowed on the village of Dak Loc, we can determine the relative age of the communal house to be in the first half of the 19th century.

Dinh Dac Loc has undergone many renovations and changes to the following location:
- At the beginning, the communal house was built in the northeast of the village on a mound with the nickname Go Cay Met. According to the local elder, because the communal house is located in an unfavorable position, it causes a lot of damage (epidemic, crop failure, failed exams, etc.) to the villagers. Therefore, people in the village moved the communal house to the west (about 200m from the old location), at this time, it was stopped to make a room with simple bamboo and leaves.
- In the past, Tien Hien church was built on a high mound to the southwest of Dac Loc village, with the customary name "Anh Dai field". In 1946, due to being occupied by the French as a fortress, the villagers moved the Tien Hien church to the communal house to worship.
- In 1957, people in the village continued to move the communal house to the northwest, about 1km from the old location, 100m from the foot of Hon Chua mountain to the east; This time, the communal house was built more superficially, with brick walls and yin and yang tiled roofs.
- In 2000, building martial arts and shacks.
- In 2003, built the old building in the main hall, replaced the damaged wooden components, and re-roofed with tile roofs.
