Description

The communal house is located in Vo Canh village, Vinh Trung commune, Nha Trang city.

Through research and through eyewitness accounts of the village elders, Vo Canh communal house is unknown in which year it was built. Vo Canh communal house was built by the people to worship Thanh Hoang, Tien sage, and Hau sage.

From the outside, looking at the relic, there are the following work items: Nghi Mon (gate), communal house yard, shrine to martyrs, water well, Tien sacrifice, Thien province (sky well), Tien Hien temple, Huong temple sage, main hall, east house (living room of mass organizations in Vo Canh village), tru house.

The communal house faces south, the front of the house borders on 23/10 street. Behind the communal house is adjacent to Nguyen Dinh Chieu Junior High School.

Decoration in the monument: The communal house is beautifully decorated with colorful pictures of nature, plants, flowers, birds, the four spirits, the four precious creatures, especially the mascots decorated on the roof. the strip bank, carved figures on the top of the column, the residual head... Inside the communal house is decorated majestically with altars, diaphragms, parallel sentences, towns, tents, drums, gongs, parasols... On the top of the column are enamel plates attached. neck; The main hall has an ancient structure, giving the house a majestic and ancient look.

Vo Canh Communal House has a structure imbued with traditional Vietnamese architecture, with painted patterns, carvings, and embossed figures on the wall in traditional style such as the four spirits (Dragon, unicorn, turtle). , phoenix), four quarters (Tung, bamboo, chrysanthemum, apricot), mascots such as dragon (Dragon), unicorn, phoenix stylized clouds in the style of dragon, phoenix ... mounted on the gate, on the roof, on the strip...

The relic is now well preserved. In 1939, the communal house was restored. Since then, the communal house has been repaired many times with small parts (re-roofing tiles, plastering walls, re-paving the floor) and every year when the festival is coming. Traditional festivals or close to Tet are repainted.

Currently, the communal house still preserves 04 ordinations bestowed by the Nguyen kings:
- Ordained the 33rd year of King Tu Duc (1880) to Cao Cac;
- Ordained the second year of King Dong Khanh (1887) to Cao Cac;
- Ordaining the reign of King Duy Tan in the 3rd year (1909) Cao Cac;
- Ordained King Khai Dinh in the 9th year (1924) and conferred Cao Cac Ton Than.

Every year, at the communal house, the Spring Festival of the Autumn Festival takes place, but the main and biggest festival of the year is the Spring Worshiping ceremony on the 25th day of the second lunar month. Whether the festival is big or small, it takes place one day or three days and whether or not there is a boi singing in the festival depends on the contributions of the people in the village.

The festival is an opportunity for all people in the village, whether living in their homeland, or having gone to work in a far away place to come to offer offerings, light incense sticks to show their respect and gratitude for the merits of the village Citadel, the god of patronage and protection for the villagers doing business and living and the predecessors and late sages who openly reclaimed land, converted people, established hamlets, and built villages. Vo Canh communal house is also a place of community cultural activities of the people here; This is the place to worship the village Thanh Hoang, to worship Tien Hien and Hau Hien (those who openly reclaimed land, converted people, established hamlets, and created villages…) and worshiped soldiers who had sacrificed themselves in the resistance wars. against aggression to protect the homeland.

Through the village communal house festival to educate the descendants of the patriotic tradition, know how to behave culturally with the village community, the people around, respect the superior and yield below, love the homeland with the traditional moral spirit. The tradition of the Vietnamese nation "Drink water, remember the source".

Recognizing the historical - cultural values of the relic, in 2009, Vo Canh communal house was ranked as a provincial relic by the Provincial People's Committee.
