Cu Lao communal house is located on Thap Ba street, in Hai Phuoc residential group, Vinh Tho ward, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.
According to the old magnates, the village was formerly called Cu Huan, located along the banks of the Cai River - Nha Trang. The village is expanding and densely populated, so Cu Huan is divided into two villages, Xuong Huan on the other side of the river and Cu Huan on this side of the river. Later, Cu Huan village was changed to Cu Lao village in Bong village. Before 1975, Cu Lao was one of three villages of Vinh Phuoc commune, Vinh Xuong district, Khanh Hoa province; 1976, in Vinh Tho ward, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province.
Dinh - Cu Lao mausoleum worships the village's Thanh Hoang, Ong Nam Hai, Tien Hien, Hau Hien, Heroic Martyrs and Ngu Hanh female goddess.
Cu Lao communal house was built more than 200 years ago in Ba Rung area (now in Vinh Phuoc ward, Nha Trang city). The communal house was built by Mr. Luong Van Tinh (a descendant of the poinsettia Luong The Vinh) and local people. Then the house caught fire. And in 1822 the communal house was rebuilt at the present location.
Dinh - Tomb of Cu Lao facing south, was built in an area of 1,222.8 m2. The communal house was restored and embellished in 2002, the architecture still retains the traditional features of the traditional communal house roof in Khanh Hoa: the communal house has an ancient floor, a wooden frame structure, a truss, some residual heads, The communal house columns are carved with the four-spirit pattern "Long, Lan, Quy, Phuong"...
From the outside looking at the relic, there are main construction items: Nghi Mon, Phong Nha, Dai Dinh, Tien Hien Temple, Oai Linh Pagoda, Nam Hai Tomb, Ngu Hanh Temple.Cu Lao Communal House facing the South, was built in an area of 1,222.8 m2. Temple of Cu Lao Temple
Today, Cu Lao's communal house and mausoleum still preserve the horizontal concubines, couplets, incense burners and 03 ordinations issued by the reigns of Kings Duy Tan and Khai Dinh of the Nguyen Dynasty, including:
- Ordaining Duy Tan in the fifth year (1911) conferred on Ban Canh Thanh Hoang.
- Ordaining Khai Dinh in the second year (1917) conferred on the Southeast to close the sea second great general.
- Ordaining Khai Dinh in the ninth year (1924) conferred on Ban Canh Thanh Hoang.
According to the annual tradition, every two years the villagers of Cu Lao hold a festival once and alternately at the communal house and the mausoleum. The opening time lasts for four days from the 15th to the 18th of June or the 8th lunar month. If any year is held at the Nam Hai mausoleum, the festival takes place in the sixth lunar month, and the festival held at the communal house takes place in the eighth lunar month.
A number of rituals take place during the festival: Procession of color, Nghinh Ong, sacrifice to God, sacrifice of Tien Hien and heroic martyrs, Khai Dien - Thu ceremony - Ton Vuong, and return of color.
In addition, every year the communal house - mausoleum organizes the death anniversary ceremony on the following days:
- January 1st of the lunar calendar: opening the first ceremony of the year
- January 15 of the lunar calendar: Praying for national peace
- March of the lunar calendar: worship Thanh Minh
- October 9th of the lunar calendar: Worshiping the death anniversary of Tien Hien
- Day 24 of the 12th lunar month: offering warm armor.
Up to now, Dinh - Tomb has been restored at least six times:
- The first time: in 1924, the communal house was built of limestone, the walls were built of clay mixed with sand and the sap of the boi tree. The roof is covered with yin and yang tiles.
- Second time: unknown year. The wall is built of bricks, the floor is covered with cement. Columns, trusses… made of wood.
- The third time: in 1998, the door and wall were built. Due to the expansion of Thap Ba Street, the communal house land - the mausoleum was partly cut and the door and front wall had to be moved back in.
- The fourth time: May 2002 (April in the Year of the Horse) to restore and embellish the communal house.
- The fifth time: in 2006, renovating and embellishing Tien Hien Temple and Oai Linh Pagoda.
- The sixth time: in 2011, renovating and embellishing Ong Nam Hai's mausoleum.
On 10/10/2008, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee ranked Cu Lao communal house - mausoleum relic as a provincial historical - cultural relic, in Decision 2510/QD-UBND.
