Description
Ba Thanh Mau Temple is located in Lac Loi village, Dien Hoa commune, Dien Khanh district, Khanh Hoa province.
The temple has many different names, including the name associated with the legend: around the temple there are many old trees, sometimes villagers see the temple area brightly lit, especially on festival nights, at the shrine. People in the area saw the five-colored lights from the direction of Am Chua (Dien Dien) flying over and landing at the temple, then flying over Suoi Do or vice versa, so the villagers called this temple Giang, meaning Holy Mother Thien Y arrived at the scene here. In 1881, after the restoration of the temple, the old men named Tien Chua Temple, to refer to the Holy Mother Thien Y as the fairy master. Today, villagers are used to calling Ba Temple, which is a short, intimate and close name.
According to the ordination still preserved of the Ba shrine, from the reign of King Tu Duc in the 5th year (1852), Thien Y A Na was bestowed to Thien Y A Na Thanh Mau: "Originally donated by Hoang Hue Pho to the spirit of Dieu Thong Mac General Thuong Dang god .... worthy of further consecration, Hoang Hue Pho sacrificed to Linh Cam Dieu Thong Mac general Trang Huy Thuong Dang god and prepared for Lac An village, Phuoc Dien district to worship the same god", so the temple was built around the beginning of the 19th century.
